Family messaging · offline-first
Text your family beyond the internet.
Text your family on a cruise ship—or anywhere coverage is unreliable—over a delay-tolerant Bluetooth mesh, with end-to-end encryption and an optional internet relay when someone gets online.
Phone-to-phone mesh
BLE store-and-forward carries messages when Wi‑Fi and cellular are gone. Minutes of delay are fine.
End-to-end encrypted
Sealed envelopes only. Relays and strangers’ phones never see plaintext—including delivery receipts.
Optional internet relay
One device with a Wi‑Fi package becomes the family uplink. The mailbox is self-hostable on a cheap VPS.
How delivery works
- Direct contactWithin Bluetooth range of the recipient.
- Data muleA family member’s phone picks up your queued message and carries it until paths cross.
- Internet relayAny phone with network access syncs the family’s sealed queue through the relay.
Apps
Android (Kotlin / Jetpack Compose) and iOS (SwiftUI) clients live in the open-source repository. Shared cryptography and sync logic use a Rust core through UniFFI.
Early development: store listings are not public yet. Build from source for now.
